Gomoa-Ankuamu (C/R), May 13, GNA - The president of Gomoa-Ankamu Youth Association, Mr Kassim Saiid on Tuesday called on opinion leaders and stakeholders in the community to provide the youth with the necessary tools needed to ensure their active participation in communal labour.
Mr Saiid made the call after leading members of the association to undertake a three-hour clean up exercise in the town. They disilted gutters, weeded overgrown areas, swept the stress and the lorry station and burnt garbage.
He told the people in the Gomoa District that the district's development depends on them, particularly the youth and urged them to cultivate the spirit of communalism.
The Awutu-Effutu-Senya, District Co-ordinator of the National Youth Council (NYOC) Mr Emmanuel Nartey, also urged the youth to sustain that spirit since they are partnership in the development of the district. Mr Nartey urged them to desist from any act of violence that could threaten the peace the nation is enjoying and also be mindful with their sexual behaviour to avoid contracting the HIVAIDS.
