The mortal remains of the chairman of the Gomoa East Constituency branch of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Isaac Kofi Yomo Laryea Quarshie was on Saturday buried at the Bethel Methodist cemetery at Gomoa Jukwaa, near Agona Swedru.
The late Quarshie died together with MP for Gomoa East Emmanuel Acheampong on February 9 this year in a motor accident on the Swedru/Winneba road.
The funeral was attended by Ministers of state, MPs, DCEs, traditional rulers, party functionaries and NDC representatives.
Among them were Papa Owusu Ankomah, Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Prof Dominic Fobi, Minister for Science and Environment, Mr Asamoah Boateng head of economic dialogue, Prof Y.S. Boafo, Ambassador to Cote D'Ivoire, and Mr Ferdinard Ayim, Special Assistant to the Minister of Information.
The party donated 10 million cedis to the widow and her three children.
In a tribute, Mr Isaac Edumadze, Central Regional Minister recounted the good works of the Late Quarshie for the Gomoa East constituency as well as at the regional level.
"The party has lost a hard working and dynamic chairman and it will take a long time to get a replacement for him," he said.
Mr Edumadze called on the people to offer the parliamentary seat to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) again by voting massively on April 8, to enable the government continue its developmental programmes.
In a sermon, Very Rev James E.B. Van-Dyck, Superintendent Minister in charge of Gomoa Manso circuit of the Methodist Church, described the late NPP chairman as one of the honest and hard working members of the church.
Very Rev Van Dyck called on Ghanaians especially, Christians, to lead life worthy of emulation so that others can amend their ways and work perfectly for both mankind and the creator.
