Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, Gomoa West District Chief Executive (DCE), has called on the people to fully participate in the forthcoming District Assembly elections and to vote for competent people.
Mr Aidoo-Mensah made the called when he and some members of the assembly joined the chiefs and people of Gomoa Whida, at a durbar to climax the first anniversary celebrations of Nana Adawu XIII installment as Odikro of the town.
Nana Adawu XIII and two new sub Chiefs, Nana Bofo Andah I Nkyidomhen and Nana Kwame Ansah Eyison I, Omankrado were carried in palanquins through the principal street of the town amidst fromtomfrom drumming and brass band music to the durbar ground.
The programme was grace by the chiefs and people from other areas including President of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Council, Obirifo Ahunakoh Ahor Ankobeb II.
Mr Aidoo-Mensah commended the chiefs and people for a peaceful and successful celebration and asked them to let the development of the area be their top most priority, by voting for suitable candidates.
The DCE expressed appreciation to the chief for releasing a four- acre land for the disposal of waste in the district and appealed to other traditional leaders to emulate his example.
He appealed to the people to bury their differences and rally behind Nana Adawu to develop the area.
Mr Aidoo-Mensah advised parents to let the education of their children be of paramount interest to them in order to acquire the skills to be pro-active to the society.
Nana Adawu said he had established Nana Adawu Educational Endowment fund to cater for brilliant but needy students in the farming community.
Nana Obokumata, Chief of Gomoa Dersum who chaired the programme congratulated the Odikro for his achievements and appealed to the people to unite and support him to execute his vision to better the lot of all and sundry.
