Mr Theophilus Aidoo Mensah, Gomoa West District Chief Executive (DCE), has commended members of the Gomoa West District Oversight Committee (DOC) of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) for their good work.
He has, therefore, urged other committee members in the country to emulate the example towards the development of the nation.
The DCE made the commendation when he addressed a team from the Uganda APRM, which is on a study tour of the Gomoa West DOC at Apam.
The eight-member team is led by Professor Josephine Ahitire, Executive Secretary of the Uganda African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).
Mr Mensah also commended the Gomoa West District Assembly for funding the Committee, adding that people in the area have taken the activities of the APRM very serious.
The DCE said the Assembly will continue to fund the Committee, to enable it achieve its aims and objectives.
This is the third time the team from Uganda has visited the district.
The DCE suggested a return visit to Uganda by the Gomoa West Committee.
The Chairman of the Gomoa West DOC, Dr Mark Nii Lamptey, pointed out that the concept of good governance has been difficult in Africa.
