The Good Shepherd Congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cape Coast has donated assorted items to the inmates of the Ankaful main camp prisons.

The donated items which include; sugar, bread, bags of rice, gari, cooking oil, soaps, create of eggs and toiletries among others, formed parts of the Church’s social responsibility.

Giving a sermon to the inmates before handing over the items, District Pastor Collins Lotsu encouraged the inmates to have faith and believe that God’s image was within them.

He, therefore, admonished them not to see themselves as outcasts but as people created by God in His own image even in their incarceration.

“We feel your pains and share your agonies and this is why we have come here to empathize with you. We wish to tell you that we love you and also to let you know that God loves you more”. Pastor Lotsu said.

He appealed to them to adhere to the reformation process activated by the Prison Service so that they could be integrated into society after serving their sentences.

The items were received by DSP Clement Aleem who is in charge of Technical and Services at the Ankaful Main Camp.

He mentioned that the items would be very helpful to the inmates and therefore extended a heartfelt appreciation to the congregation for the gesture.

For about ten consecutive years running, Good Shepherd Congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cape Coast has been assisting inmates of the Ankaful Prisons annually.
