Gov’t urged to motivate Ghanaians to invest in economy

The Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Anglican Church, Very Reverend Francis Benjamin Quashie, has advised government to use part of the resources used to encourage foreigners to invest in the country, to concentrate on motivating Ghanaian entrepreneurs both home and abroad, to invest in the country.

He said the citizenry have the resources that can be invested in the economy, to help turn things around when given the needed support and encouragement.

Very Rev, Quashie gave the advice at a Confirmation Service at the Anglican Church of Transfiguration at Odumase-Krobo.

He was of the opinion that if the various governments had focused a little on the citizens of the country, more investments could have been realized than the current situation where often, governments tended to focus more on foreign investors, and offered them many incentives without considering its own citizens.

Very Rev Quashie appealed to the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies, to focus on the building of residential accommodations to help reduce the huge housing deficit in the country.

The Reverend Minister in -charge of the parish, Archdeacon Nii Moi Addo, appealed for support for the rehabilitation of the local Anglican School building which was recently hit by a rainstorm, destroying the roofing, and weakening part of the building.
