The deputy minister of education in charge of Technical, Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Mrs.Gifty Twum Ampofo has said that government is committed in making Tvet attractive
Speaking at the launch of the apprenticeship policy which has at the British council last Friday the Deputy minister of education in charge of Tvet said the president of the Republic Nana Akuffo Addo is in full support of TVet and knows the full benefits Ghana stands to gain from Tvet.
Hon. Gifty Twum added that she is confident Tvet has the potential to stair the economic development of the country and that government is making things possible for all TVEt schools to come under the Ghana Education service and such benefit from the free Shs policy.
Most Ghanaian Children who completed Junior High Schools wished to enroll in the TVET education but due to lack of finance to support them, they joined the Senior High School against their wish and due to that the government has decided to extend the free education policy to Technical, Vocational Education and Training.
As part of strategies to frastrack Tvet His excellency President Akuffo Addo has started renovating all vocational and technical institutions in the country she added.
According to Hon. Gifty Twum Ampofo an appreteship policy should have been made long ago but it's good its been done now.
