Government appointees must eschew arrogance - Kwame Fordjour

President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo

People, given the opportunity to serve in the Akufo-Addo led-government, have been asked to do everything to uphold the values of humility and modesty.

Mr. William Kwame Fordjour, a local governance expert, said they must also be accountable and eschew any traits of arrogance.

Making the call through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi, he said the mistakes of the out-going political administration must never be repeated.

It was important to recognize that Ghanaians would not forgive anybody who disrespected and took them for granted.

Mr. Fordjour urged them to focus on the job of making things better for the people.

He noted that the task ahead of them was enormous but said with integrity, hard work and passion for success every difficulty could be surmounted.

He called on the President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo to act boldly to make corruption unattractive, saying, all corrupt public officials should be punished.

That, he indicated, was the way to go to make sure that the nation’s resources were protected and properly applied to transform the living conditions of the people.

Mr. Fordjour appealed to everybody to conduct themselves well to prevent needless post-election violence.
