A cross-section of people in the Ashanti Region have lauded the Akufo-Addo-led government in what they described as a forward-looking budget for 2018.
Radio airwaves in the regional capital were filled with loads of commendation last Thursday [Nov., 14, 2017] morning for the president and his team, following the reading of the 2018 budget statement on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday, November 13, 2017.
One of such people who lauded the government was Mr Francis Adomako, who noted that not only was the budget aiming at growth in the various sectors of the economy, but also hinged on job creation.
According to him, the job creation aspect of the budget was commendable since many of the youth in this country were still wallowing on the streets without jobs.
Mr Adomako, who is an aspiring regional Organiser for the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region, stressed the importance of engaging the youth in a gainful venture since failure to do so can spell doom for the government and the country as a whole.
He indicated that the bold decision by government to extend job opportunities to about 100,000 graduates in the country will greatly help reduce the unemployment situation if the vehicle to which the jobs will be engineered is supported by the populace.
The reduction of electricity tariffs for residential, non-residential and industrial consumers by the government, the aspiring organiser indicated, was equally commendable.
That decision, he added, will ensure total relief for industry players and ordinary citizens since they will now spend less on the consumption of electricity.
Employers, Mr Adomako said, should capitalise on this reduction to employ more workers since they would have to spend less on bills.
