Ghana Government have advanced on plans to regularised it's operations at hajj village, ahead of 2017 pilgrimage to the Holy land of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has said.
Speaking to section of Muslims at Cape Coast Central Mosque, as part of his Ramadan Tour, the former Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana said, Muslims will no longer be stranded at hajj village doubting over the flight to use for the holy pilgrimage.
He added that anyone who requested to embark the holy pilgrimage, upon completion of the process, will receive text message indicating the day, flight and time of the departure.
According to Veep, the list will be published in national dailies to obviate crowding, mosquito bites and confusion which usually occurs.
Information Minister, Mustapha Hamid, explained the purpose of the Ramadan Tour to Class News' Maxwell Attah in a sideline interview. "The purpose is to fast and worship with Muslims as well as thanks Allah for his mercies" He said.
As part of the Ramadan Tour in Central Region, Veep together with The Regional Minister, Mr. Kwamena Duncan visited some selected Mosques in Kasoa and Winneba.
Other prominent members involved in the tour were Hon. Enerst Arthur and the MP for Cape Coast North Hon. Barbara Ayisi.
