Government presents gifts to Okuapemhene

Akropong-Akuapem (E/R), Oct. 8, GNA - A government delegation and a group of organizations and communities on Thursday presented drinks and gifts to Okuapemhene, Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa III, towards the celebration of this year's Akuapem Odwira festival and on the occasion of his 30 years' anniversary as Okuapemhene.

The Government delegation, led by the Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital City, Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey presented one carton schnapps, four cartons of beer, four crates of minerals, a ram and two bottles of whisky.

Other members of the delegation included Dr Francis Osafo-Mensah, Eastern Regional Minister, Dr Eugenia Dankwa-Quist, Akuapem North District Chief Executive and Nana Adi Ankama, Eastern Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party.

A delegation of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG) led by Mr Keneth Johnfia and Ms Elizabeth Otu also presented two bottles of schnapps, a card and two million cedis.

The delegation thanked Oseadeeyo Addo Dankwa and the elders of Akropong for donating a parcel of land to the PPAG at Akropong-Akuapem about eight years ago.

They informed Nana Addo Dankwa that the association has started developing the land into a youth centre complex.

Also a 22-member council of elders of Kwamoso community presented a bottle of schnapps and a ram to the Omanhene.
