Winneba, Jan. 12, GNA - The Effutu Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Nii Ephraim, has said government has put in place polices that will help the youth in its "better Ghana" agenda.
He mentioned some of the policies as the National Youth Policy, National Youth Employment Programme and others.
Mr Nii Ephraim said this at a graduation ceremony of 10 apprentices after three years course in 18 subjects including grooming of bride, make-up for all occasions, conditioning and styling technique, cutting and tonguing, weave-on and Pedicure and Manicure. He said the government would this year train a number of youth in each district throughout the country and urged the youth to desist from taking hard drugs, internet fraud and immoral activities.
Miss Angela Joyce Cann, Proprietress of the Centre, appealed to the Effutu Municipal Assembly to use the Centre as pilot programme centre. She said the centre is going to run short courses in beauty therapy for Senior High School leavers interested to acquire such skills. Ten of the girls have appealed to the philanthropists and non-government organizations to come their aid since their parents are not able to pay their feeding money of about 30 Ghana cedis monthly. 12 Jan. 10
