The Member of Parliament for Suhum Constituency, Frederick Opare Ansah has urged Ghanaians to have hope in the Akufo-Addo-led administration as he believes government's policies will yield the requisite results with time.

According to him, the government has taken steps to make sure all the pledges that were made during the electioneering campaign will be redeemed.

Mr. Opare Ansah speaking to the media alongside an ECOWAS conference ongoing in Accra cited that the free SHS, one constituency one million dollars per year and setting up of development authorities to execute projects using funds and the restoration of allowances for teachers, believes government can fulfil its promises before they go to the polls come 2020.

He affirmed that, being under IMF as a country has to be a major hindrance in the creation of job and opening up avenues for employment. The honourable member went on to say that since the country is not under IMF anymore, Ghanaians should watch out for more development since the country has started seeing an immediate impact.

"The freeing of government hands is determining how to charge duties at the port which has already reflected and I am confident that, in the next few months we will begin to see the uptake of people into employment. We need to move away from the thinking that, the government alone is supposed to create jobs in the country. The government responsibility in the major is to fix the fundamentals and as I speak interest rate is gradually declining".

"As an MP, I have a factory but due to the huge electricity tariffs I decided to cut down workforce since the NPP government has paid off about 70% of the debt to ECG, we are going to be able to expand the operations of the factory and employ more people” he added.

In furtherance, he indicated that they are able to do all this since the government has deemed it necessary to reduce electricity tariffs with a different reduction rate for individual homes and commercial entities and industries.

“So, I am sure that government policies will yield the requisite when given time and that is what we are hoping for. In the next few months we hope to see a significant uptake of employment” he ended.
