President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

The government will announce measures on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, to mitigate the impact of the dry spell affecting regions in the northern and middle belts.

During his recent visit to the Upper East Regional capital to commission the Bolgatanga hospital, President Akufo-Addo expressed concern about the situation and pledged to take decisive action to alleviate the effects of climate disruption that have plagued these regions.

Farmers in these areas have suffered significant losses as their crops and overall farm output have been severely impacted by the current dry spell.

The Minister of Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, will use Wednesday's press conference on behalf of the government to outline key measures to alleviate the impact of the dry spell on lives and livelihoods.

These measures are expected to offer a glimmer of hope to the affected farmers and their households, while also supporting agricultural recovery in the northern regions.
