Government to solve Senya water problem soon

Senya Beraku (C/R) June 21 GNA- Captain Steve Kwamena Armah (RTD) District Chief Executive for Awutu-Effutu-Senya, said on Monday, that Government was putting in place measures to find lasting solution to the perennial water problem facing Senya and surroundings communities. He said the District Assembly had presented a Memorandum to the Ministry of Works and Housing, requesting that the town should be connected to the Winneba Water Works, that treats over three million gallons of water a day.

Captain Armah made this known when he inaugurated a nine- member Senya Urban Council at Senya Beraku.

Water supply from Agona Kwanyako Water Works, to Senya and surrounding communities has been hampered due to technical problems. Captain Armah urged the Council Members to work as a team and not allow their parochial interests to affect their performance.

"You are the first set of Council Members and you cannot afford to fail your people. You must stay focused on your job so that by the time you exhaust your tenure of office, you leave significant footprints of your achievements for successive Councils to continue from there." Mr Haruna Esseku, Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who chaired the function, called on the people to unite to facilitate development.
