Koforidua, Aug 24, GNA - Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, the Eastern Regional Minister, on Tuesday said the government would not be selective in its quest to build a better Ghana for all to ensure a holistic development of the nation.
He said the government would deal with all recognized groups and organizations not based on partisan lines but on development focused agenda to reduce poverty to the barest minimum.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo said this when he presented 100 mats and bags of rice to each of the 21 districts in the region at a ceremony in Koforidua to be distributed to the Muslim communities in support of the Ramadan.
The Regional Minister, his deputy, Mr Babal Jamal and all the municipal and district chief executives in the region joined leaders of the Muslim community to offer prayers for the nation at the residency gardens in Koforidua.
He said the government recognized all religious groups in the country and would deal with them irrespective of their political leanings.
The regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Alhasan Amdani thanked the regional minister for the donation and support towards the Ramadan and assured him that the Muslim community would support government to carry out its policies.
