Govt Officials Sue Andani Gate Leaders

Four officials and associates of government implicated in the Yendi clashes are initiating legal action against three persons who they accuse of fabricating accusations gainst them. The officials are the former Interior Minister Alhaji Yakubu Alhassan; National Security Advisor Lt. Gen Joshua Hamidu; the regent of Tolon Major (retired) Suleman and Alhaji Mohammed Aminu Amadu, a businessman.

Some leaders of the Andani gate have alledged that the four men marsahalled warriors and procured arms for the assasins of the Ya Naa Yakubu Andani and his household.

The officials who have been implicated believe that the accusations have evoked hatred in a great number of people against them, with some calling for their blood. The statement named Kumbun Na Yiri Iddrissu Abu; the Regent of Gulkegu Ziblim Abdullai, and a lecturer at the University of Ghana, Dr. Wayo Seini as defendants.
