The Global Security for Africa Research and Good Governance (GLOSARGG) has said it has noticed that the Electoral Commission (EC) is acting unfriendly towards opposition political parties, especially the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to a press release dated Friday, September 13, 2024, under the auspices of the Executive Secretary of GLOSARGG, Francis Ahovi, the organization said it has “keenly noticed the constant unfriendly and partial attitude of the Electoral Commission towards opposition parties, most especially the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at these crucial times of election 2024.”

It therefore reiterates the call on the EC to do the right thing before, during, and after the much-anticipated election in December.

“GLOSARGG wishes to reiterate that the Electoral Commission’s banter with the NDC is a clear demonstration of a shaky 2024 general election, which could be a recipe for mayhem if Ghanaians continue to remain passive while worshipping the EC on this doom mission."

Francis Ahovi emphasized this by calling on the Peace Council and Ghanaians to “exhibit their readiness for that peace by calling the EC to order to avoid the opaque processes and go for free, fair, and transparent methods of conducting credible elections free of violence.”

GLOSARGG is an Accra-based non-government organization advocating for peace and good governance in Ghana and the sub-Saharan region.
