The New Patriotic Party (NPP) says its presidential candidate; Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has taken a commanding lead in Wednesday’s presidential poll with 5,441,642 votes, representing 53.79%.

The figure, according to the party, was collated from the 27,577 pink sheets (representing 94.32%) declared at each polling station and submitted to their collation centers across the country.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s national headquarters in Accra on Thursday, December 8, 2016, the National Youth Organiser of the elephant family, Sammy Awuku, said from the analysis they’ve made so far, President John Dramani Mahama who is representing the NDC is trailing Akufo-Addo with 4,497,477 votes.

The Danquah-Busia-Dombo tradition, he added, has also won overwhelming majority seats of Parliament.

“From the declared results at the constituency alone, we can provisionally say we have won a clear parliamentary majority with a minimum of 149 seats. No threats of machinations can change this.”

He added “This is what we call a clear non riggable margin. No numerical gymnastics that will be employed by a South African IT expert or Israeli IT expert can change the sovereign mandate that the Ghanaian people want to entrust into the hands of the NPP.”

Awuku commenting further, said the party is every prepared to share its data with the general public.
