A popular activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hajia Fati, has threatened to sue the party if the election committee allows suspended party 1st Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe to pick nomination forms in bid to contest any party position.

Mr Crabbe who was at the Asylum Down headquarters of the party earlier on Friday to pick forms was prevented by Hajia, which resulted in chaos.

He had come to the party office with a banker’s draft to pay for his nomination, but was asked to pay with cash.

Soon after the scene, the visibly infuriated woman warned the party executives to desist from selling the forms to Mr Crabbe.

“I will sleep here to prevent him,” she said referring to a pavement.

“I’m not mad. If nobody talks about this, I’ll talk about it. NPP is not for sale…Go and ask Kufuor, I have suffered for the party. Since Adu-Boahen’s time to when Kufour became the president, I have suffered for the fortunes of thisParty,” she added.

“If Sammy Crabbe picks the nomination forms, I will sue NPP, I’m not kidding,” fumed Hajia.

Sammy Crabbe was suspended together with Paul Afoko, and Kwabena Agyepong, the then NPP chairman and General secretary respectively in 2015.

He and Mr Agyepong were accused of publicly objecting to the party’s decision to indefinitely suspend Paul Afoko.

His decision to join the race to contest the chairmanship while on suspension has surprised many.

The party is yet to comment on the development, after Hajia’s confrontation.

Hajia Fati is also reported to have slapped a reporter of Adom FM, Ama Sakyiwaa when she tried granting her interview.
