The incumbent Member of Parliament(MP) for the Walewale constituency, Hajia Lariba Zuweira Abudu, has called on her supporters to remain calm and support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain the Walewale seat.
It would be recalled that some supporters of Lariba Zuweira Abudu, threatened to vote skirt and blouse in the December 7 elections should Dr. Kabiru Tiah Mahama be selected as the parliamentary candidate for the NPP in the Walewale constituency.
She said that unity and togetherness in the party will give the NPP a greater chance to retain the seat.
Her call follows her withdrawal from the NPP Walewale parliamentary race after the rerun conducted by the party and the comments by her supporters after the rerun.
Hajia Lariba is optimistic that her withdrawal from the race will bring peace and unity to the party as well as strengthen the ambitions of the NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the parliamentary candidate to win massively come December 7, 2024.
“I want to thank each and every one of you for always standing by me and always supporting me. I am very happy and I want to encourage each and every one of you to take peace as a stepping stone and let us all come together to fight and win this seat [the Walewale seat] for Ghana,” she said.
