Half Assini unhappy with work done on their roads

The people of Half-Assini in the Jomoro District have criticised the work of the contractor rehabilitating roads in the town and other parts of the District and said he had done shoddy work.

Nana Ackah Azane, an elder of the Half-Assini Traditional area made this known on behalf of the chief, Nana Ayebie Amihere VI, and the people, when the District Chief Executive for Jomoro, Mr. Sylvester Dadie, met them as part of his familiarization tour of the District.

He said the roads in the district capital including Half Assini Hospital area, Captain Williams Streets and Kwame Nkrumah Lodge, had developed deep potholes three years after their completion.

The people appealed to the government to impress upon the contractor to undertake repair works on those roads before the rains render them impassable.

According to the Chief, similar road projects undertaken by the same contractor at Elubo, Benyere, Ndumesuazo and Ezinlibo had also developed potholes.

Nana Azane said the Jomoro District Assembly at its recent sitting at Half Assini, protested against the poor job done by the contractor and wondered why some authorities in Accra and Takoradi continued to give him contracts in the area without inspecting those he had already done.**
