Hannah Tetteh’s executives dump NDC

Information gathered by DAILY GUIDE over the weekend indicates that over two thousand supporters and former constituency executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Awutu Senya West Constituency have defected to the NPP.

This happened because the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Madam Hannah Tetteh, allegedly paid money to delegates to vote against the incumbent executives at their constituency elections held at Bawjase over the weekend.

The angry supporters, who made this known to the press, said the party did not need them, hence their decision to quit immediately and join the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The spokesperson for the irate supporters, who was the former Propaganda Secretary, Offei Tawiah, accused Madam Tetteh of allegedly paying GH¢200 each to the over 300 delegates to vote against the incumbent executives.

He stated that the MP had allegedly told a lot of people in the constituency that she would do everything possible to ensure the incumbent executives lost the constituency elections since they supported the former MP for the area, Nana Larbi, against her in their last primaries.

He further accused the regional executives of the party of supporting the agenda of Madam Tetteh, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, to remove them from office.

Mr Tawiah underscored the need for the party to start looking for people who would do their house-to-house campaign for them since no amount of words or negotiations by the party would persuade them to return to the NDC.
