National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress [NDC], Sammy Gyamfi, has hinted that should the NDC regain power in 2020, some appointees in the current administration will definitely be hauled before court for trial.
He cited the Minister for Special Development Initiative (SDI), Hon. Hawa Koomson, as a future candidate for prosecution for willfully causing financial loss to the state.
Why? Sammy Gyamfi contends that the SDI Minister knows the dug-outs constructed by the Akufo-Addo-led NPP government under the 1-Village-1-Dam initiative are not fit for the purposes meant for.
“How can you use excavators to construct ponds which you term as dams when they are to be called excavator ponds? The so-called dams were to be built to serve as irrigation for farmers in the said regions during the dry seasons, but the dams are nowhere to be found during the current dry season, yet you want to prevent citizens from asking for what their money has been used for.”
" . . see the meaningless dams her Ministry has constructed . . . Indeed that Minister I have told her [Minister for Special Development Initiative] and UTV should note it down that she [Hon. Hawa Koomson] is a future candidate for a prosecution on the charge of willfully causing financial laws to the state because she knew what she was constructing will not stand the test of time,” he fumed on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' show.
