Hawa Yakubu expresses sympathy to the Rawlingses

Takoradi, April 24, GNA - Madam Hawa Yakubu, the first National Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed her sympathy for former President, Jerry John Rawlings and his wife, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings for their involvement in a motor accident in South Africa.

"I personally feel hurt by their present situation and wished them and their entourage speedy recovery", she said. Madam Yakubu expressed the sentiment at a meeting of the Takoradi Polytechnic branch of the Tertiary Education Students Confederacy of the NPP (TESCON) in Takoradi at the weekend.

Referring to Nana Konadu, who was said to have sustained injuries, Madam Yakubu said "Women are women irrespective of their political affiliations, cultures, clans and environment' they also serve as role models and must be encouraged".

She said the predicament of the former president and his team could befall any body and people should be ready to share in their pain.
