Entertainment pundit and musician, Kwame Obeng Asare, popularly known as A Plus, has stated that former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, lacked proper guidance when he entered politics.

A Plus noted that although Gyan is celebrated as one of Ghana's greatest footballers, his political involvement became problematic due to poor management.

He suggested that if Gyan had received expert political advice, he might have succeeded and not been troubled by public criticism.

In an interview with 3FM, A Plus encouraged Gyan to learn from his political experience to improve his future endeavours.

“You can be influential, have money, and have whatever, but you also need management. Asamoah Gyan is a great footballer, not only in Ghana but across the continent, and he didn’t get the right advice. We’ve been there before and know what these people are like. I think it’s an experience he should use to better his next move.

"Politically, I’m not on the same level as Gyan. I’ve done too much. Since 1998, when I made my first song, nothing about Kwame A Plus has changed. You can say whatever, but it has always been about what is right,” he said.

In a press release, Gyan announced that he has quit politics and is not affiliated with any political party, despite previously joining Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team.

The footballer stated that he plans to build sports facilities to help the youth develop their talents in sports.
