Prof Kobby Mensah of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS) has reacted to recent out-of-court comments by Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, on the ongoing ambulance purchase trial.
Kobby Mensah in a post on his X page (June 25) referenced a video of Dame's comments as posted by the state-owned Daily Graphic on X, pointing out that whiles the case was being tried in Ghana, the A-G had taken it abroad.
"He’s taking his case abroad," the professor stated before quoting a Fante proverb which means "when an injury afflicts you badly, you don't sit ideal and suffer disgrace."
Dame while in the United Kingdom, over the weekend, for a governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) event spoke about the case involving business man Richard Jakpa and Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson.
The A-G threw jabs at the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) stating that their lies and propaganda had been exposed in court.
He stated partly in his comments that since the prosecution started their cross-examination of the third accused in the case, Richard Jakpa, the case of the defendants have collapsed.
The other defendant in the case is an NDC MP and Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson.
"He’s taking his case abroad “kruo dosu aa wontsina fakor ngyi enunguasi” if Ghanaians in Ghana don’t believe me let me try those abroad…" Prof Mensah's full post read.
