Head to court with superior arguments and evidence if you disagree with the OSP on Airbus – Lawyer

The Supreme Court of Ghana The Supreme Court of Ghana

A private legal practitioner, Kofi Bekai, says if there is anyone who does not agree with the outcome of the probe into the Airbus scandal by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, they should go to court and challenge it with irrefutable evidence.

He explained that it is only a competent court of jurisdiction that can acquit and discharge anybody in any criminal matter; hence, if anyone has superior evidence to suggest that former President John Dramani Mahama committed any offence in the matter, they should head to court.

Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, the lawyer noted that “the outcome of the probe is from the perspective of the OSP, and if anyone wants to challenge it, then they have to conduct their own probe and submit to Ghanaians what they find; if not, we have to accept what the OSP has done.”

He said, “The outcome of the probe has revealed that there was no money that exchanged hands, and so if you want to dispute his probe, then you should go ahead and conduct a probe and go to the various courts to establish if money exchanged hands, who received the money, and initiate any criminal prosecutions where necessary."

“The only institution that acquits and discharges anybody accused of a crime is the court. That is why, usually, when people send matters to CHRAJ or any other body, they may head to court for a judicial review, so the court will determine the matter with the plaintiff’s argument and evidence, or the facts,” he added.
