Headmaster appeals for construction of additional dormitory block

Adadientem (Ash), May 15, GNA - Mr Cosmos Owusu-Afriyie, Headmaster of Church of Christ Secondary/Commercial School at Adadientem, near Ejisu in the has appealed to the government to construct additional dormitories for both boys and girls in the school. He has also asked the Ejisu-Juaben district assembly to honour its promise to construct additional classroom blocks for the school.

Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency at Adadientem at the weekend, Mr Owusu-Afriyie said the school raised 100 million cedis in March this year and was using the money to build an assembly hall. He said though the school was quite young, it had performed creditably in the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) with its pioneering students scoring 75 percent in 2002 while the second batch of students also scored 76 percent in 2003. He said four of its students gained admission into the universities, while 16 others were in the various polytechnics.

Mr Owusu-Afriyie expressed gratitude to the district assembly for its support and said currently, the assembly was supporting five brilliant but needy students in the school. He said in spite of its meagre resources, the school has been able to provide 10 computers to enable the students to be computer literate. The headmaster hoped public-spirited people in the district and outside, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and other churches will come to the aid of the school to provide quality education to students.
