A pharmacist, Mariam Apraku, has explained that recording a high sugar level suddenly does not mean a person is diabetic.
According to her, there are several factors that may lead to a high sugar level once in a while.
These factors include stress and eating certain types of food, all of which can cause high blood sugar levels temporarily.
It however becomes problematic if high blood sugars are recorded regularly, she said.
She also noted that normal sugar levels should vary between 3.5mmol and 7.5 mmol, depending on the meter used.
Speaking to Stella Dziedzorm Sogli on the Health Focus show, she emphasized that healthy choices must be made to prevent the condition.
