Help us find parents of young victims of gas explosion – Alex Segbefia
The Minister of Education, Alex Segbefia, has called on the general public to help locate the parents of two victimized children of the recent gas explosion at Labadi.
He made this call to action during an interview with Adom TV on Friday, December 25, 2016.
“My concern is for the two young victims that we met. I believe one was 6 years old, and the other was, I think, 8. And I stand to be corrected but, the hospital is making efforts to identify the parents or guardians of these children. So anyone who watches your programme and knows any of these particular two children should make contact with the hospital immediately because part of the treatment process is to have loved ones around you or people who know you”, he stated.
Mr. Segbefia added, “ I noticed a remarkable improvement in the conditions of the patients at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, La General Hospital and 37 Military Hospital when he visited the mentioned hospitals".
“Well, not surprisingly, the initial trauma, the initial shock is weighing down, and due to the care they have received, you can see that a lot of them are a little bit more alert and are responding quietly to treatment”, he disclosed.
About 5 people have been confirmed dead with 42 others injured after a gas explosion took place in Labadi. The cause of the tragedy has been connected to human blunder, and the scene of the incidence has been tagged as ‘dangerous’.
