In business this week, Ghana's cocoa regulator, COCOBOD, has set the farmgate price for cocoa farmers at GH¢48,000 per tonne, or GH¢3,000 for a 64-kilogramme bag for the 2024/2025 crop season.

This represents a 45 percent increase in the producer price compared to April 2024 and a 129 percent increase from the September 2023 price.

Also, reports have emerged that some commercial banks in the country have begun charging up to US$20 as fees on foreign accounts.

This was evident after some customers received emails and text messages informing them of the new charges from their various financial institutions.

For the ninth consecutive week, the government failed to meet its target for treasury bills by GH¢754.86 million.

In its latest auction, the government secured GH¢4.849 billion, falling short of its GH¢5.604 billion target.

During the auction on September 6, 2024, and issuance on September 9, 2024, GH¢3.903 billion was secured for the 91-day bill.
