Accompanied by a sense of friendship and shared purpose, Members of Parliament, alongside dignitaries from across the political spectrum, are converged in Parliament House in anticipation of the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review.

One of the endearing moments in the House occurred when the Chief of Staff, Frema Osei-Opare, met with Haruna Iddrisu, Member of Parliament for Tamale South.

According to GhanaWeb's reporters at Parliament, when the Chief of Staff saw the former Minority Leader, she exclaimed, 'Herh! My son.'

It was an indication of her excitement seeing the MP.

The term "Herh" is a colloquial expression in Ghana, used to address someone with respect and fondness.

The upcoming session is for the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, to update the nation on the progress of the government's fiscal plans, and also to offer revised financial strategies, as well as an updated economic outlook for Ghana.

In a statement released on July 22, the Ministry of Finance underscored the significance of the mid-year review.

It will provide a comprehensive assessment of the government's 2024 Budget implementation thus far, offering insights into economic and fiscal performance over the first half of the year.

With Parliament abuzz and stakeholders eagerly awaiting the Minister of Finance's address, all eyes are on the outcomes and implications of the 2024 Mid-Year Budget Review for Ghana's future prosperity.
