High Court declares Ntensere Nana Mensah Bonsu winner of land dispute against Nana Appiah Sarfo Kantanka

The legal battle between Nana Appiah Sarfo Kantanka, Akroponghene (Plaintiff) and Nana Mensah Bonsu, Tano Obourmensah of Ntensere (defendant) ended on Thursday, March 27, 2024. With the later chalking victory.

The judgment delivered by the Kumasi High Court named Nana Mensah Bonsu, Ntensere Bosomfuo as the true custodian of Ntensere Stool Lands.

The court in its ruling stated that Ntsere Stool Lands are not do not fall under the lands owned by the Akroponghene.

The High Court, per its ruling noted that the defendant “All that land bounded by River Nwabi, River Offin and the Beshie Stream is declared to belong to the Tano Obour Mensah fetish god. It is further declared that the Chief Priest of Tano Obour Mensah fetish being the defendant herein, is the custodian of Ntensere Stool Lands.

“No evidence was led by the defendant to prove that the plaintiff has trespassed onto Ntensere land so I dismiss the claim for damages for trespass as well as relief 4 which bothers on chieftaincy matters which this Court has no jurisdiction.

“In view of my decision not to award costs against the defendant when I dismissed two motions he filed, in a similar vein, I will not award costs in this matter.
