High fever can also make people prophecy – Kwesi Pratt

The Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr., has stated that because pastors are human and therefore suffer all ailments that befall mortals, it has become difficult to tell the difference between a true prophecy by a man of God and when he is suffering from high fever.

According to him, the fact that one may be a pastor does not insulate him for maladies because they are human and humans are bound to fall ill once in a while.

He was of the view that opinions on prophecy vary based on one’s belief: “but if you believe that God does not love some of his children more than others, then, you would not believe anything any other person tells you, but would only accept what you see as reality”.

“…A pastor may speak like this because they have high fever. We all know that when you are sick of high fever, you see things that do not exist. This leaves some of us who do not prophecy in a state of confusion because the pastor may be looking good in appearance but could be suffering from high fever,” Mr. Pratt asserted.

Speaking on Adom FM, the veteran Journalist recounted an incident in which a well-known man of God visited him in his office to deliver a prophecy, about twelve years ago.

According to him, he advised the pastor who came with an obvious concocted story claiming to have been sent by God to visit the hospital for a checkup because it was clear he was ill.

Kwesi Pratt made these comments during the discussion of what many describe to be a premonition of evil befalling the country in the next one month.

Dr. Mensah Otabil, delivering a sermon in church last Sunday, cautioned his congregants to pray for the nation because he could feel a “sense of heaviness in his spirit concerning the destiny of this country, that there is something heavy ready to fall upon this country that if we don’t take charge, we will be in a different state a month from now”.

He called on Christians across the nation to take a clue from Elijah in the Bible who prayed fervently for the fate of his country, and made certain declarations to avert the calamity that could have befallen the nation.

“We need to take note that Elijah was just like us and he came from Tishbi, which is a village not found on any map till date – but because he prayed earnestly, he was able to make a declaration about the destiny of his country and his declaration shaped the destiny of his country,” he said.

The man of God has come under wide spread condemnation following this remarks, but the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper explained that since he is “unable to tell the difference between the prophecy coming from God and the one caused by high fever, I give any prophecy like that any credence”.
