The Police in the Brong Ahafo Region have shot and killed an armed robber on Techiman-Sunyani Road.

The deceased and four others attacked traders, who were travelling onboard a bus from Dormaa Ahenkro to a market at Yeji in Pru West District.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at Techiman Holy Family Hospital morgue.

According to reports, the unidentified armed robber was part of a gang of five highway armed robbers who attacked a Sprinter bus with registration number AW 9606-14 at 12:15am at Agosa in the Techiman Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region.

Lance Corporal Amoako, the policeman who escorted the traders to the market, said that upon reaching the said spot, the unidentified armed robbers shot at the driver and he also returned fire which led to the death of one of them.

According to information, the rest of the armed robbers fled into the nearby bush.

A shotgun and AA live cartridges were retrieved from the scene.

The source said with the help of the police patrol team, the body of the deceased was conveyed to Techiman Holy Family Hospital.

Police in the region are yet to comment on the incident.

The source told DAILY GUIDE that Lance Corporal Amoako later reported the case to the Techiman Police.
