The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, has emphasized the importance of recent courtesy visits exchanged between himself and the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Speaking during a courtesy call at his Palace in Accra, the Ga Mantse highlighted the role of such exchanges in promoting peace and security across the nation.

He explained that the visits symbolized a commitment to maintaining peace and solidarity among Ghanaian traditional leaders, which he believes is essential for national cohesion.

“Recently you saw what, Opemsuo Osei Tutu II the Asantehene came to do with me. I went to Kumasi to pay my respect to him as a big brother of mine, he came here to pay the same honest respect to me.

“This that we jointly did must not be taken for granted. Because it is for the peace of the state. Charity begins at home, if we as chiefs cannot see reasons to come together to keep our brotherhood, and keep our peace, how can you talk to a nation to be peaceful?

“It is not about who is who and what is what. The matter is that lives need to be preserved, this is the junction that we are at. And for that matter, we need to keep peace at all times,” he said.

On Sunday, June 9, 2024, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II visited the King of the Ga State, at the Ga Mantse Palace in Accra.

This significant event marked only the second time in history that an Asante monarch has visited a Ga King, with the first visit taking place in 1946.

The visit was part of a series of activities commemorating the historic engagement between the two kingdoms.

It followed Ga Mantse's participation in the 25th anniversary celebration of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II's ascension to the throne and his 74th birthday celebration. The event was marked by a vibrant display of both Ga and Asante cultures, showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the two communities.
