The Ho central branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has presented food items worth GHC 4,375 to the Ho Zongo community in support of the Eid ul-Fitr celebrations.
Mr Benjamin Kpodo, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Constituency who made the donation, said the Party considered the support, particularly during the difficult times of the Coronavirus outbreak, as one that could not be substituted.
He said the Party believed the support would help sustain their resilience in fighting the pandemic, and appealed to the community to help appeal for divine intervention in the crisis.
“Let's ask God to forgive all our sins and take the coronavirus away,” the MP said.
The festival is held to mark the end of the annual fast (Ramadan), and the items presented included bags of rice, sugar, non-alcoholic drinks, cooking oil, and water.
The Party had earlier presented sanitation equipment and materials including hand washing stations, and also some nose masks to the Community.
Alhaji Turawah Yushau, Chief of the Community, said inner-city communities remained unplanned and were bedeviled with sanitary challenges.
He also said some projects including a six unit classroom block and a community health facility stood uncompleted for years, and appealed that the crucial projects were made ready for use.
