Ho Central NPP calls for dialogue to resolve impasse

The Ho Central Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party on Wednesday called on the national leadership to intervene in the impasse between some activists and the regional executive of the party that led to the recent demonstration in Ho.

This was contained in a statement signed by its Secretary, Mr Theophilus Kwaku Foli.

On January 5, a group of demonstrators said to be activists of the NPP went on the streets of Ho with placards to protest against alleged lack of transparency and abuse of office by some party executives in the region.

This prompted a press conference by the Regional Executives on Monday January 13 to refute the allegations and the credentials of the organisers of the demonstration.

The statement also disclaimed one Mr Seth Tsikata who spoke to a national daily on the January 5 demonstration in his capacity as the first Vice Chairman of the Constituency Branch of the Party.

The statement said, "the elected First Vice Chairman of the Constituency is Mr Innocent Kodzo Dey."

It threatened legal action against Mr Tsikata if he did not "stop speaking on behalf of the constituency and arrange to meet the Executive Committee to render an apology."
