Holy, healthy lifestyles prevent sickness – Agyinasare

Bishop Charles Agyinasare Bishop Charles Agyinasare

Bishop Charles Agyinasare has urged Christians to avoid sin and adopt healthy lifestyles so as to avert relapsing after receiving healing through miracles.

On the last night of his four-day Festival of Miracles held at the Independence Square, the Perez Chapel International founder told a sea of Christians that some healing miracles do not last because the beneficiaries do not live holy and healthy lifestyles.

Using John 5:14 (Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee) to teach the congregation about the causes of sickness, the Chancellor of Perez University College, said: “You can lose your healing, you can allow sickness to come on you”.

“Sickness comes in various ways,” he noted. Those ways, he said, include self-infliction of infirmities through “bad eating” habits such as: taking in “excess sugar and soft drinks and syrup”, which causes diabetes; eating “excess oil, butter, palm soup and oily stew” which leads to “high cholesterol”; “late night eating of heavy food”, which leads to “high blood pressure”, among others.

He also said unhygienic conditions such as filthy, choked drains and standing water help to breed mosquitoes and flies which cause malaria and cholera, respectively; while dirty bowls and poorly washed vegetables cause typhoid.

Additionally, he urged Christians to stay away from alcohol, cigarette and hard drugs since addiction to such substances could lead to liver problems, cancer and mental illness.

Bishop Agyinasare also said sinful sexual habits such as fornication, adultery, homosexuality, lesbianism, bestiality, and pornography could lead to HIV/AIDS, gonorrhoea, syphilis and cervical cancer.

Apart from that, he said curses borne out of idolatry, incest, murder, theft, laziness, disobedience, failure to tithe, and ignorance, could also lead to various infirmities.
