Accra, Nov. 4, GNA - A London-based recruitment agency for homecare workers, Absolute Recruit Limited (ARL), has opened a branch in Ghana to create direct jobs for the youth.
The agency will train the youth on how to attend to the aged in society, and reduce the frustrations usually coupled with old age in Ghana.
The Ghana branch will cater specifically for social care, offering a professional and fast paced service caring for the aged.
Mr Isaac Sackey-Nelson, Director of ARL, explained in Accra on Wednesday that the care package was aimed at providing relief and much needed support for all in society.
He said the decision to come to Ghana was unanimous given that the current busy and demanding lifestyle made it rather difficult for people to devote time and care for older relatives.
Mr Sackey-Nelson said after nine years of operating successfully in the United Kingdom, it was appropriate to bring the services to Ghana.
He said homecare workers would undergo a two-week intensive training covering emergency first aid, diabetic testing, temperature, respiration and pulse monitoring, effective communication, abuse and its effects, food hygiene, person-centred approach and emergency procedures, among others.
"We also understand that each of our clients is unique, therefore, we are adaptable and aim to provide a truly person-centred service to all," Mr Sackey-Nelson said. Mr Sackey-Nelson said ARL had professional consultants who were dedicated and of high integrity ready to care for their clients' welfare.
It also offers recruitment facilities in areas of social care, administration, secretarial and industrial facilities for both permanent and temporary vacancies.
