Homowo In Atlanta

The 16th annual Homowo Festival in Atlanta is only few days away and Atlanta is ready for a fun-filled celebrations.

The festival, scheduled for Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 9 pm is expected to draw organizations, churches, groups and individuals from several US cities. Superb cultural shows, free great foods, excellent music are among the attractions for this year’s Homowo Festival.

This year’s festival will be held at the Vikhyat Banquet Hall, 3900 Lavista Road , Tucker, GA 30084.

The GaDangme Association of Georgia is one of the best Ghanaian associations in Georgia founded about 18 years ago.

The association has partnered with the Isaac Hayes Foundation to fund projects in Aids education in Ada. The association also adopted a clinic in Prampram, where it sends hospital equipments periodically.

It continues to be very active in the Ghanaian community in Georgia. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Better Healthcare”. Other highlights for the festival include the drawings for a chance to win Delta Airlines tickets to anywhere Delta flies.

Video clips from the Ghana@50 celebrations will also be shown at the event. Atlantans will also witness the outdooring of our new chief, Nii Martey Kwao, and of course our ever beautiful and always gracious queen mother, Naa Ayokor Osamota Gborbilor.
