A leading member of the Alliance for Revolutionary Change (ARC), Hopeson Adorye, has criticised the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, following his arrest by the Ghana Police Service.
According to Hopeson, he is aware of Bediatuo's attempts to influence the police service to ensure his imprisonment.
The ARC member warned that as someone who vigorously campaigned for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to come into power, he will not be intimidated by Bediatuo's attempts, stating that especially when the executive secretary did not play any role in the campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Onua TV, Hopeson cautioned the Executive Secretary to the President to desist from his malicious attempts, stating that they will backfire.
"My regards to Asante Bediatuo. Since he is bent on putting me in police cells, he will be jailed while I am still alive. He is nobody; the position he currently occupies, I was instrumental in establishing it.
"He was nowhere to be found when we were fighting for it. So, if he has gotten a position, he should keep quiet and enjoy it. I heard everything he said, and nothing will happen. He cannot do anything to me," he noted.
It will be recalled that Hopeson Adorye was arrested by the police for peddling false information that he was involved with a dynamite explosion somewhere in the Volta Region.
Subsequently, he was granted bail by the police at GH¢20,000 with two sureties.
