Hot FM’s Isaac Boamah-Darko appointed president of Pentecost Media Guild

The Host of Hot 93.9 FM morning show, Maakye, Isaac Boamah-Darko has been appointed as the President of the Pentecost Media Guild by the Church of Pentecost in a colorful ceremony at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh in the Central Region.

This was declared on Saturday, 9th June, 2019 at the launch of the Pentecost Professionals Network, an initiative from the Church’s Vision 2023 dubbed, ‘Possessing the Nations’ of the Church of Pentecost (COP).

The Pentecost Professionals Network is an umbrella body of all professionals in their various categories including health, business, media, law and justice etc. within the COP.

Launch

At the launch, the International Missions Director, Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo, led all executives of the Professionals Network, to say words of commitment to kick start their work of promoting the vision of the Church.

Apostle Gyesi-Addo encouraged the executives to work hard and be dedicated to work as their tenure would last for two years.

He asked them to “cooperate well with all their members and discharge humble service and truth in their work”.

God’s grace

Speaking after the launch with journalists at the Centre, the President of the Pentecost Media Guild, Mr. Isaac Boamah-Darko expressed appreciation to God for His grace in locating him to channel the cause of the church. Quoting from Isaiah 40:28-31, he asked God to increase his strength and hope in the LORD will surely renew his strength to run and not grow weary.

He added that the appointment as a President was not to lord his policies and initiatives over his colleagues but to exercise democratic principles of leadership to promote peace and unity.

According to him, the job is quite challenging but He will rely on the grace of God and the support of his colleagues to make the goals of the Guild achievable.

Assurance

The youngest Presiding Elder of the Bethel District gave assurance that he was going to show commitment and dedication to achieve the objectives of the Guild that seek to inspire and empower media practitioners within the Church to passionately use their God-given talents in the media to serve and promote the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.

He added that the hope of the Guild is to carve a niche by giving high priority to the Church and propagate the church’s activities to listeners, readers and viewers across our various platforms.

Numerically, he said “we are in all the sixteen (16) regions and over one three hundred and forty (340) across Ghana. Over the period, we have covered clean up exercise and given free-air time to many Districts ”.

Profile of president

Elder Isaac Boamah-Darko holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Strategic Communications at the African University College of Communications (AUCC).

He is currently studying for a Master of Science Degree in Defence and International Politics at the Ghana Armed Forces and Staff College in Accra.

Boamah-Darko is a Presiding Elder of the Redemption Centre Assembly and the Assistant District Youth Leader at Bethel District of the Dansoman Area of the Church of Pentecost in Accra.

He started his journalism career at Eastern FM in Koforidua as morning show host and moved to Emak FM as a political talk show host. Mr Boamah Darko came to Accra and landed a job as a morning show host with Groupe Nduom's Amansan TV (ATV) and the EBN TV.

He was transferred to Kumasi based Fox FM as morning show host and returned to Accra to host Hot FM, morning show 'Maakye'.
