The chairman of EGLE party, Danny Ofori Atta has added his voice to the call on President Kufuor to allow an Independent enquiry into the Hotel Saga. He said it is important that a committee of enquiry is set up to establish the truth about what has become known as The Hotel Kufuor Saga and whether President Kufuor's influence was used in the acquisition of funds.
Mr Ofori Atta was speaking to Peace FM in an interview about the party's position on the Hotel Saga and whether an Independent enquiry was necessary at all.
After years of speculations about the sale and purchased of the Hotel near the President's Kufuor private residence his elder son John Addo Kufuor also known as Chief Kufuor issued a statement claiming that he purchased the Hotel and not his father, President Kufuor. However, opposition politicians including president Kufuor's main challenger in the December 2004 election, Prof Mills has called for a public enquiry into the whole saga to establish the circumstances surrounding the whole transaction.
Mr Danny Ofori Atta said at the time world leaders are accusing African Leaders of not doing enough to tackle corruption, an enquiry into the Hotel Kufuor Saga will do a lot of good for the President and his NPP Administration.
