Accra, Oct. 20, GNA - Parliament on Wednesday adjourned some 15 minutes after the commencement of business to allow prospective Members of Parliament of the next Parliament to file their nominations in their respective constituencies.
Mr Felix Owusu-Adjapong, the Majority Leader and Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, moved for the adjournment, after the only business for the day listed on the Order Paper; laying of a report of the Committee on Roads and Transport on the Road Traffic Bill, had been carried out.
Mr. Ken Dzirasah, Second Deputy Speaker, said: "Today and tomorrow have been designated for aspiring MPs to file their nominations so the early adjournment was in accordance with a consensus reached by the Leadership of the House."
At the commencement of business, there were only 15 members on the floor of the House, comprising seven on the Majority side and eight on the Minority side.
