How I met Otumfuo Osei Tutu II – Lady Julia reveals

At a dinner ceremony celebrating the birthday of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Lady Julia shared the story of how she met her husband while delivering a speech.

Lady Julia recounted their meeting at an Ecobank event in Kumasi, where the Asantehene was in attendance.

She had been assigned the task of delivering the vote of thanks for the inauguration of the first branch in the Ashanti Region, a responsibility she fulfilled to the satisfaction of many.

According to her, Otumfuo Osei Tutu told her that he was captivated by her after the event.

"I met Otumfuo 22 years ago when I was overseeing legal affairs at Ecobank. Ecobank was inaugurating a branch in Kumasi, and Otumfuo was present. I was tasked by my managing director to deliver the vote of thanks. He tells me he was captivated. Despite the rain after the event, he stayed back to ensure he learned who I was and how to contact me before leaving the venue.

"Later that evening, I was invited by my managing director to a dinner at Otumfuo's residence. Little did I know, I was auditioning for a significant role, and here we are, 22 wonderful years later, with many beautiful children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews," she said.
