Two Ghanaians, Eric Aidan and Matthew Kwasha, have been arrested by Nigerian police officials for attacking a driver with acid and robbing him of his truck.

YEN.com.gh understands that the Intelligence Response Team (IRT) of Nigeria confirmed the arrests.

Information available shows that the suspects carried out the crime in Edo on December 9, 2018, but they were arrested in the Enugu state.

The IRT spokesman, DCP Jimoh Moshood said that the suspects allegedly poured raw acid on Taiwo Adesanya, after robbing him at the Olukwu area of Benin City of his truck with goods.

They then snatched his truck loaded with 600 bags of sugar worth over GHC130,000, and dragged him out of the truck after they mistook him for dead.

He added that the suspects are notorious criminals who specialize in killing their victims with raw acid after dispossessing them of their belongings, especially vehicles.

DCP Moshood went on to say that they usually seek employment as driver and conductor in haulage companies.

They consequently study the company and perfect ways to divert their employers’ goods and sell the vehicle.

He revealed that they confessed to the crime and will soon be charged by a court, after they had been recognized by Adesanya.
