As part of efforts to end the burgeoning human rights issues the country is battling within recent times, the DDG (Diwali Dhamaka Group) Charitable Trust, a philanthropic group made up of Indian business people in Ghana has extended its charity arm to the Human Rights Reporters Ghana(HRRG) by presenting a brand new Hewlett Packard(HP) Laptop Computer to support its works.

The gesture according to the Executive Director of Human Rights Reporters Ghana, Mr. Joseph Kobla Wemakor was in response to a request earlier made by his outfit to the group for assistance in the area of office equipment to aid the smooth running of its administrative duties.

The donation was made possible through the facilitation of Queen Fatima Alimohamed, the Global Ambassador Africa-Empowering a Billion Women. It was presented by Mr. Ashok Kumar Amin, the Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Oscar Impex Limited on behalf of the Diwali Dhamaka Group.

The DDG Charitable Trust has been very instrumental in championing various noble initiatives in the country aimed at giving relief to Ghanaians since its inception in Ghana for the past seven (7) years.

Notable among its initiatives was an erection of five classroom block, solely funded for a non-profit organization, known as the Family Outreach Ghana as a way of giving back to the society.

Receiving the item on behalf the human rights group, HRRG’s Executive Director, Mr. Joseph Kobla Wemakor expressed his deepest appreciation to the donor for the goodwill in responding swiftly to meet their demand at the point of need. He was equally grateful to Queen Fatima Alimohamed for being the conduit that made things happen for the better.

Mr. Wemakor used the occasion to appealed to government, philanthropists, individuals, corporate organizations, NGOs including other charitable groups to come to the aid of Human Rights Reporters Ghana(HRRG) and donate generously (either in cash or kind) to support its activities to end the gross human rights issues the country is faced with.

The Human Rights Reporters Ghana is an advocacy Non-Governmental Organization(NGO) serving as a critical voice to the voiceless in the fight against all forms of abuse and violence which threatens the freedom and fundamental human rights of people in Ghana and beyond with more focus on children, girls and women.

The vibrant human rights organization, made up of a combined group of journalists, lawyers and human rights advocates is committed to defending and protecting the rights of all humans on earth as far as enjoying their freedom and fundamental human rights are concerned.

It has been at the forefront currently championing initiatives that would put to end the phenomenon of kidnapping which has become a serious national security threat in Ghana.

The group through its sensitization campaign project on kidnapping has help enlightened over 2,000 pupils from various schools within the Accra metropolis and still expanding to cover schools across the whole country.
