Several women in Accra have benefitted from a free fertility and breast cancer screening.

The event which was organised by Discovery Specialists’ Hospital and IVF Centre, a private health service provider based in Accra, in collaboration with the Naa-ooo-Naa Foundation, a humanitarian service provider, was also used to create awareness and offer treatment to the public.

The Director of the hospital, Mrs. Sheilla Ankrah-Aryee, speaking at the event held last Saturday in Accra, urged Ghanaians to prioritize their health and safety.

Mrs. Ankrah-Aryee stressed that maintaining a supportive and private environment was a priority to encourage more people, particularly women, to take part in the screenings.

She said the participants also received other services such as IVF, dietician and dental consultation, breast cancer scan, pelvic scan, Sickle Check and examination as well as general medical consultation.

The founder and Director of Naa OO Naa Foundation, Racheal Aryee, Esq., discussed the drive behind the collaboration and the importance of creating a supportive environment for the community.

She mentioned that the event was not only focused on breast cancer detection, but also offered a range of other health services, such as blood pressure checks, diabetes screenings and nutritional counseling.

According to the founder of the Naa OO Naa Foundation, during the breast cancer screening, participants also had the rare opportunity to engage with the psychologists.
